With everything changing so fast…. I have decided to rebuild the user group site. At first I was thinking of building the site with cakephp so I spent quite some time working on some really cool code. But with things like iphone and the new sdk as well as apps like twitter, scribefire, plugins for thunderbird, I have decided that I need to use the software that allows me to quickly add content rather then write a custom app to handle these features. Not wanting to completely break the old site with its 20k visitors per month but deciding that in order to move foward I must rebuild I am looking at ways to migrate the data cleanly. If you have any thoughts on migrating seo pages please drop me a line. So far I am thinking of having the 404 page automaticly redirect any bad pages to an oldsite.miamiphp.org. Then changing the theme of that site to be more plain with banners for the new main site. oi here we go….
